WxrExplorer Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and [OWNER NAME] ("we", "us") about your use of the WxrExplorer app and website ("WxrExplorer"). By using WxrExplorer, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use WxrExplorer.
1. WxrExplorer is an educational aid, not for flight planning or navigation
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY.
WXREXPLORER IS AN EDUCATIONAL AID FOR LEARNING ABOUT WEATHER AND CLOUDS. IT IS NOT FOR FLIGHT PLANNING OR NAVIGATION, AND IT IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR AN OFFICIAL WEATHER BRIEFING.
By using WxrExplorer, you understand and agree that:
1.Not an official source. WxrExplorer is not an FAA-approved or official source of aeronautical weather information, and it is not approved, certified or endorsed by the FAA, NOAA, the National Weather Service or any other government agency.
2.The data can be wrong. WxrExplorer shows data from government sources, but that data can be late, incomplete, missing or wrong. WxrExplorer can also misread, misdecode, misplace or fail to show it. A missing report, hazard or alert does not mean there is none.
3.A cloud scan is an estimate. It comes from a single photo and can be wrong. A "clear", "calm", "benign" or similar reading never means it is safe to fly.
4.Directions are approximate. Airports, fronts, hazards and other items shown in the camera view are placed using your phone's location and compass, which can be inaccurate. They must not be used for navigation, traffic or terrain avoidance, or to find your position.
5.Alerts are not guaranteed. Notifications can be delayed, missed or wrong, and your phone may not show them. Do not rely on WxrExplorer alerts for safety.
6.Ratings are not a decision. Comparisons with your personal minimums, and labels such as flight categories, are learning aids and not a go/no-go decision.
7.Get an official briefing every time. Before every flight you must get a complete weather briefing from an FAA-approved source, and you must meet every requirement of the Federal Aviation Regulations, including preflight action (14 CFR 91.103).
8.You decide. As pilot in command, you alone are responsible for deciding whether and how to fly (14 CFR 91.3).
2. Who may use WxrExplorer
You must be at least 13 years old to use WxrExplorer. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you.
3. Your license to use WxrExplorer
What you may do: we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use WxrExplorer for your own non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
What you may not do:
copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell WxrExplorer, except where the law allows it;
use it to build a competing product;
scrape or overload our servers, or get around rate limits or security;
use it for any unlawful purpose.
Ownership: WxrExplorer, including its software, design, text, cloud model, and proprietary graphics, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. These Terms do not give you any rights except the license above.
4. Government data, links and third-party content
Where the weather comes from: WxrExplorer displays weather products and images from U.S. government sources, such as the National Weather Service, NOAA and the FAA.
No endorsement: these agencies do not endorse WxrExplorer. Their logos may appear in their original images, and that does not imply endorsement.
Links: WxrExplorer links to outside websites, such as the FAA Aviation Weather Handbook. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for them.
Open-source software: WxrExplorer includes open-source software and model weights that are licensed under their own terms, listed in the in-app credits. Those terms govern those parts.
5. Alerts and your device
Setup: to receive alerts, you must allow notifications and keep the app installed. On iPhone, the web version must be added to the Home Screen.
Changes: we may change, pause or stop alerts at any time, for example if a data source changes.
What you are responsible for: your device, its settings, its connection and any data charges.
6. Your feedback
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.
7. Availability and changes
WxrExplorer depends on government data services, hosting providers and your device. It may be unavailable, slow or wrong at times. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of WxrExplorer at any time.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information, and it is part of these Terms.
9. Subscriptions and purchases
1.Billing. Some features may require a paid subscription. It is sold and billed by Apple through your App Store account.
2.Automatic renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
3.Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the current period.
4.Free trials. If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
5.Refunds. Apple handles refunds under its own policies.
6.Price changes. Prices may change, and we or Apple will tell you before a change affects your subscription.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WXREXPLORER AND ALL INFORMATION IN IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY. THIS INCLUDES ANY WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, RELIABILITY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT WXREXPLORER WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY WEATHER INFORMATION, CLOUD IDENTIFICATION, POSITION OR ALERT WILL BE CORRECT OR DELIVERED.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR OWNERS, CONTRACTORS AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; OR
ANY PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, AIRCRAFT DAMAGE, LOSS OF DATA OR LOSS OF PROFITS,
ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO WXREXPLORER OR ANY FLIGHT OR DECISION MADE IN CONNECTION WITH IT, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO WXREXPLORER WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR WXREXPLORER IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) [US $50]. SOME PLACES DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITS, SO SOME OF THESE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
BY USING WXREXPLORER, YOU ARE ASSUMING ALL RISKS TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless us and our owners, contractors and suppliers against any claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from:
your use of WxrExplorer;
any flight you conduct; or
your breach of these Terms.
13. Ending your use
You may stop using WxrExplorer at any time.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms.
Sections 1, 3 (ownership), 6, and 10 through 16 continue to apply after your use ends.
14. Governing law and disputes
Governing law: these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Disputes: any disputes under these Terms shall be resolved by individual arbitration within the State of Texas. By agreeing to these Terms, you agree to waive any right to participate in a class action, mass action or similar proceeding, to the extent permitted by law.
15. Terms for Apple App Store users
If you downloaded WxrExplorer from the Apple App Store:
1.Agreement parties. These Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are responsible for WxrExplorer and its content.
2.Scope of license. Your license is limited to using WxrExplorer on Apple-branded products you own or control, as the App Store usage rules allow.
3.Maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for WxrExplorer.
4.Warranty. If WxrExplorer fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for WxrExplorer.
5.Product claims. Apple is not responsible for any claims about WxrExplorer, including product liability claims, claims that WxrExplorer fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
6.Intellectual property. Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending, settling or paying any third-party claim that WxrExplorer infringes intellectual property rights.
7.Legal compliance. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
8.Third-party terms. You must follow any applicable third-party terms when using WxrExplorer, such as those of your wireless carrier.
9.Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
10.Contact. Questions, complaints or claims about WxrExplorer: [OWNER NAME], [OWNER ADDRESS], [email protected].
16. General
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about WxrExplorer.
Severability. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a term, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms. We may transfer them, for example as part of a sale of the app.
Changes. We may update these Terms by posting a new version and changing the effective date. If a change is significant, we will give notice in the app. Continuing to use WxrExplorer after a change means you accept it.

Accounts and the free plan (added October 13, 2026; draft for legal review)
Sign in with an email address you control, or with Apple or Google. One person per account; keep your sign-in to yourself.
The free plan gives full access for 3 hours after your first finished scan each day and 10 scans a day; everything but the Scan screen then locks until midnight. Safety warnings stay on in every plan. These limits may change.
Pro, once offered, is a subscription bought inside the iPhone app: a 7-day free trial, then $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year. It renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You manage or cancel it in your phone’s subscription settings; deleting the app or your account does not cancel it.
We may suspend or close accounts that abuse WxrExplorer or break these Terms. You can delete your account at any time in the app.
